About this tool

Everything here happens in your browser, so the file you load is the only copy that exists. Detect and decode QR codes and barcodes (QR, EAN, Code128 and more) from images locally in your browser with zxing-wasm. Processing runs locally in your browser's memory — the document is never transmitted, and closing the tab clears it completely. The workflow is deliberately short: load the file, choose the options on the page, run the operation, and save the result. Every choice is applied before the file is written, so re-running with different settings takes seconds. Supported image formats include PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WEBP; decoded results can be manually selected and copied; it pairs well with the related tools linked beside this page when one step is not the whole job. Key facts — Processing: runs entirely in your browser, client-side; Access: free with no account required; Privacy: the file never leaves the device.

FAQ

Will my file be uploaded?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded.

What formats are supported?

Supports common image formats including JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP. Decoded barcodes and QR contents are displayed as format and text, and can be manually selected and copied.

How accurate is the recognition?

Accuracy depends on image resolution and barcode integrity: well-lit, clearly focused barcodes and QR codes with minimal distortion or damage yield the best results. If a code is skewed or poorly lit, try cropping closer or enhancing contrast before scanning.

Can I process multiple files in bulk?

This page supports uploading up to 5 images at once for sequential recognition; there is no bulk scanning entry yet — upload additional images in batches of up to 5.

Is the processed file still editable?

Decoded results are displayed with barcode type and text content, which can be manually selected and copied for easy pasting into other applications.
