FAQ
Why does an image look sharp on screen but fail the 300 DPI check?
Screens typically display at 72–96 DPI, whereas offset/digital presses require at least 300 DPI. When an image is stretched across a large page area, its effective physical resolution drops significantly, resulting in visible pixelation.
What is BleedBox and why is it necessary?
BleedBox defines extra margin (typically 3mm) beyond the final trimmed page (TrimBox). Without bleed, mechanical cutting variations during commercial trimming can leave unsightly white borders along page edges.
Does preflight verify that all fonts are fully embedded?
Yes. Unembedded fonts can cause font substitution or print errors on commercial presses. Preflight flags all unembedded font names and affected pages.
Does it detect RGB color spaces that need CMYK conversion?
Yes. It flags RGB color profiles and warns of potential gamut shifts when converted to commercial print CMYK.
Can I export the diagnostic preflight report for print shop handover?
Yes. Export a comprehensive preflight audit report with DPI breakdowns, bleed status, and font embedding scores to share with print shops.
