What is it?Excel to PDF is a PDFLean conversion tool: Convert Excel (.xlsx/.xls/.csv) spreadsheets into clean PDFs.

TL;DR: Convert Excel (.xlsx/.xls/.csv) spreadsheets into clean PDFs with standardized gridlines. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded; See the size and page limits shown on the tool page.

This tool converts Excel spreadsheets (XLSX, XLS, or CSV) into paginated PDF files for reporting and distribution. Processing runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no account needed. The output is a PDF with each worksheet laid out as clean, gridded pages. Key limitation: only cell data is exported — charts and macros are not rendered — and each page presents up to the first 12 columns, so very wide sheets may need restructuring or repeated exports.

About this tool

This tool does one job and does it entirely on your device. Convert Excel (.xlsx/.xls/.csv) spreadsheets to clean PDF: auto-layout gridlines, fully local in your browser. Processing runs locally in your browser's memory — the document is never transmitted, and closing the tab clears it completely. The workflow is deliberately short: load the file, choose the options on the page, run the operation, and save the result. Every choice is applied before the file is written, so re-running with different settings takes seconds. Supported input: XLSX, XLS, CSV; output: clean PDF; Practical limits apply (see the on-page limits); it pairs well with the related tools linked beside this page when one step is not the whole job. Key facts — Processing: runs entirely in your browser, client-side; Access: free with no account required; File limits: see the on-page limits; Privacy: the file never leaves the device.

FAQ

Does it support exporting multiple worksheets?

Yes. All non-empty sheets within your workbook are automatically formatted and exported sequentially into the PDF.

Are my financial spreadsheets private and secure?

Private by design — files never leave your device. Processing happens exclusively within your browser's local memory with zero data transmission to external servers.

Will wide spreadsheets or large data grids be cut off in the PDF?

Each page renders up to the first 12 columns, and overly wide cell text is automatically truncated with an ellipsis. For wider spreadsheets, selecting landscape orientation and trimming columns is recommended for best results.

Are cell background colors, borders, and gridlines preserved?

No. The exported PDF uses a clean, standardized report style (bold header with tinted background, alternating row stripes, and subtle gridlines) and does not preserve custom cell background colors, bold formatting, or alignments from Excel.

Which Excel file formats are supported?

Full support for modern .xlsx, legacy .xls, and .csv spreadsheet formats. Conversion runs directly in your browser without requiring Microsoft Office or WPS.
