What is it?Repair PDF is a PDFLean optimization tool: Local PDF repair with structural health check (error codes and severity), deep repair and page-by-page rescue; encrypted files require prior decryption.
TL;DR: Local PDF repair with structural health check, deep repair, and page rescue. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded and is cleared when you close the tab; completely corrupted files (missing PDF header) cannot be repaired (≤10MB).
About this tool
Repair corrupted or unopenable PDF files locally in your browser by rebuilding objects and reconstructing cross-reference (xref) tables. Provides structural health diagnostics with error codes and severity levels, and supports exporting a salvaged version for partially damaged documents. Files without a valid %PDF header cannot be recovered. Processing runs entirely in browser memory without file uploads, and data is cleared immediately upon closing the tab. Free with no account required; on-page limits apply (≤10MB).

FAQ
Will my file be uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded and is cleared when you close the tab.
Are there any limits?
Completely corrupted files (missing PDF header) cannot be repaired; encrypted files require prior decryption; file size is limited to ≤10MB.
What kinds of corrupted files cannot be repaired?
Completely corrupted files (missing a standard PDF header or with zeroed bytes) cannot be repaired; the tool provides a clear diagnostic report rather than pretending to succeed. For partially damaged files, it attempts reconstruction and offers a salvaged version export.
Can I process multiple files in bulk?
A single tool page handles one task at a time; for bulk work use the Batch Processing workflow and add this tool as a step to run a whole set at once.
Is the processed file still editable?
The output is a standard PDF that opens and edits normally in any reader; your original document is untouched and you receive a newly repaired file.
