What is it?Factur-X / ZUGFeRD e-Invoice is a PDFLean conversion tool: Embed CII/UBL invoice XML into a PDF as a Factur-X / ZUGFeRD attachment with PDF/A-3 structure.

TL;DR: Embed CII/UBL invoice XML into a PDF as a Factur-X / ZUGFeRD attachment with PDF/A-3 structure. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded and is cleared upon closing the page; invoice XML is not generated by this tool and must come from an invoicing system.

About this tool

No accounts, no uploads, no watermarks — just the operation you came for. Embed CII/UBL invoice XML into a PDF as a Factur-X / ZUGFeRD attachment with PDF/A-3 structure, or read an embedded invoice XML — locally. Processing runs locally in your browser's memory — the document is never transmitted, and closing the tab clears it completely. The workflow is deliberately short: load the file, choose the options on the page, run the operation, and save the result. Every choice is applied before the file is written, so re-running with different settings takes seconds. Practical limits apply (see the on-page limits), and it pairs well with the related tools linked beside this page when one step is not the whole job. Key facts — Processing: runs entirely in your browser, client-side; Access: free with no account required; File limits: see the on-page limits; Privacy: the file never leaves the device.

How to use

FAQ

Will my file be uploaded?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded and is cleared upon closing the page.

Are there any limits?

The tool does not generate invoice XML (it must come from an invoicing system); the built-in Profile validation covers required elements, date/currency formats and arithmetic consistency, but full business compliance is not guaranteed. Verifying PDF/A compliance with a dedicated validator is recommended.

Does embedding invoice XML affect the original PDF layout?

No. The invoice XML is attached as a PDF/A-3 compliant attachment, leaving the original PDF's visual appearance and page layout completely untouched; the output is still a PDF, and the embedded XML can be extracted back at any time.

Can I process multiple files in bulk?

A single tool page handles one task at a time; for bulk work use the Batch Processing workflow and add this tool as a step to run a whole set at once.

Is the processed file still editable?

The output is a standard PDF/A-3 e-invoice document, and the embedded XML data can be inspected and extracted whenever needed.
